Stormy the Magician “The Family Entertainer”
Presents a Program that
Promotes Reading, is Fun, Magical, and Educational all at the same time!
Each year, Stormy creates an original, themed, 45 minute reading magic show which can be used by Libraries and Schools.
Stormy is a storyteller who uses Magic while telling stories.
Stormy keeps his audiences entertained from the moment he comes on stage to the final belly laugh. Stormy's magic shows are child focused, jam packed with lots of tricks, include audience participation, and are filled with appropriate humor which makes the children, as well as the adults, enjoy every minute. Best of all, Stormy uses his show to enhance the importance of reading. Schools and Libraries want to have Stormy perform because his shows are educational as well as entertaining. If you’re looking for a special program that celebrates reading, science, holidays, character values, "March is Reading Month", or a special family/school gathering or carnival, Stormy has a show for you.
Here are a few of Stormy's shows
"The Story” is a program that enhances your School's writing program. Through magic and storytelling, Stormy explains the “parts or formula” of a story. Stormy will tell the magical story of: The Ugly duckling; Ba Ba Black Sheep; The 3 little pigs; The Princess’s necklace; and a few more. At the end, the stories are broken down to each of their “story parts”.
The learning doesn’t stop when the show ends. Stormy provides each teacher with a handout that recaps each of the stories told. Teachers are then encouraged to have their students write their favorite story that Stormy told, then identify the parts/formual of the story..
“Camp Read A lot”
Want to go on a camping trip? Stormy’s Camp Read a lot reading program shows how important reading is if you want to spend time in the out of doors. Students will hear magical stories about tying knots, reading a compass, packing for a camping trip, and even how to bake a cake. If you’ve been thinking about using this theme, then let Stormy entertain. After all, Stormy was a YMCA Camp Director for 30 years!

One World, Many Stories
Stormy takes the audience on a journey around the world by weaving magic and stories. The show, after reviewing how Stormy learned to spell, begins by going on a magical reading treasure hunt. Students, then climb on their magic carpets and travel to Switzerland to play a game with a famous Cheese maker and his mouse Mortier. Next its off to Italy to get a taste of their famous pizza. Hopping on their magic carpets again, it’s off to Russian, where all magicians find their magic rabbits. Finally the “One World, Many Stories” trip ends back in the States by telling a story about fishing and how students can get hooked on reading.

“Being Creative is Magic”
Come and find out how inventors, musicians, scientists, and artists used their creativity to make their inventions magical. By telling stories and using magic tricks, children learn that all inventors need to be good observers, be able to use their imagination, be willing to try over and over, and be willing to read books. A few of Stormy’s inventions, like the amazing Flag-o-matic American flag making machine, a “What” stick, and an “Anti gravitational device” will be demonstrated. A story about George Washington Carver and how his creative spirit unlocked the potential of the peanut and changed the world will also be told.

"Just Buggy About Books”
From the opening “warm up”, this show uses tricks, humor, and audience participation that centers on our crawling insect friends. Children will learn about lady bugs, the metamorphosis of butterflies, fire flies, bees, grasshoppers, a spider named Freddie, and the most famous insect daredevil of all, “Evil Boll Weevil”. At the end of the show, children will have enjoyed not only a hilarious and entertaining magical show, but they will also take home information about insects, their life cycle, and why they are important to our lives.
“Make a Splash.....Read”
You take a line and I’ll take a pole, and we’ll go reading at the old fishing hole! In this fast paced show, Stormy takes the audience fishing. The audience will learn how to fish for friends, tell the story of the "Three little fish and the big bad shark", explore the 3 states of water via Stormy's weather machine, and if the fish are biting, some fish may magically appear.
